2023 School Year

Food insecurity is on the rise in Eastern Kentucky reflected in our new student numbers for the 2023 school year. This can be attributed to inflation in the United States and the cost of food skyrocketing.

For the 2023 school year we will be feeding 312 children through our backpack program in Johnson and Floyd county that may otherwise go hungry on the weekends. This equates to around 1248 meals served weekly during the school year. It is our mission to show the love of Christ through our servitude in providing for the "the least of these.

We pack the food and deliver to the Family Resource centers at the schools. We don't get to see where the food goes, what a face in need looks like, what a face that finds hope looks like, or what a child's home life looks like. It is our faith in God that his spirit will move in the lives of these children letting them know they are not alone and are loved.

We would like to thank the wonderful volunteers, Family Resource Centers, and donors that make all this possible. The body has many parts that work as a whole in providing our mission. It is love, above all else, that will bring light to the darkness in this world. It is God who gets the glory in all we do because He first loved us.
