What do you like most
about the program?
That they are making such a difference in so many of my students lives. Least I know on the weekend they have some food and aren't going to bed hungry. Truly a blessing.
Having food !! Before I struggled to have food for my families due to funding.
I like that it affords me the opportunity to send students in need home with food over weekends when I'm not sure that they would have it otherwise.
please share with us the impact of our program or a story where the program made a difference in the life of a child?
I have this one child that comes every Friday to get their bag and they cry about every time they go to thank me. They say you just don't know what a difference this makes for me and my sibling.
There are no other programs out there like Soul Food. I can't imagine what it would be like for children with food insecurity. There are children asking about their food bags in the middle of the week just to make sure they will have it on Friday. You can see a difference in a child when they don't go home worrying about meal times. They are more relaxed and confident. Thank You to everyone who helps fund this project, who prays for the program and the children it serves, and for the hands and feet that work to make it happen.
This program is a great help to us. Our center has a small budget and if were not for this program I would not be able to provide the assistance to the kids for the weekends and breaks.
