Soul Food Awarded $15,000 from Pallottine Foundation Healthy Communities Initiative to Combat Child Hunger in Eastern Kentucky

Prestonsburg, Kentucky – June 11, 2025 – Soul Food, a non-profit dedicated to alleviating food insecurity in Eastern Kentucky, is proud to announce it has received a $15,000.00 funding award from the Pallottine Foundation Healthy Communities Initiative 2025. The generous grant was received on May 22, 2025.
This significant funding will directly support Soul Food's vital backpack program, which provides nutritious and easy-to-prepare food to children facing food insecurity over weekends and school breaks. The program is a critical lifeline for many families in the region, ensuring that children have access to consistent meals when school meals are not available.
